Former BLACK SABBATH/GREAT WHITE Bassist DAVE 'THE BEAST' SPITZ Interviewed
June 26, 2010Kol Halev, worldwide Jewish Israeli radio, conducted an interview with former BLACK SABBATH/GREAT WHITE bassist Dave "The Beast" Spitz about his memories of BLACK SABBATH, Ronnie James Dio and his new band WAR PIGS. The chat, which took place on May 30, 2010 at the Rock N Roll Ribs, the recently opened barbecue restaurant owned by IRON MAIDEN drummer Nicko McBrain, guitarist Moby" Rick Baum and close friend Mitch Tanne, can be viewed below.
Dave Spitz played bass for BLACK SABBATH from 1985 to 1987 and appeared on the band's 1986 LP "Seventh Star". Although he was credited on SABBATH's "The Eternal Idol" album, he did not perform on the record. Spitz has also played with Lita Ford's band as well as AMERICADE, WHITE LION, IMPELLITTERI, SLAMNATION, INSOMNIA, NUCLEAR ASSAULT, GREAT WHITE, and Bill Ward's band. He is currently a member of MCBRAIN DAMAGE, the Florida-based band featuring Nicko McBrain, Rick "Moby" Baum (guitar),and Tim "Irish" Brown (vocals)
Dave Spitz is the brother of former ANTHRAX guitarist Dan Spitz.
